MARCELO H. DEL PILAR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL is located at Phase IX, Pkg. 8 Block 7 Lot 2, Malaria 1, Barangay 185, Caloocan North District, Caloocan City (Purok 2, Malaria, Caloocan City 1427 - as mailing address) with an area of 3 569.70 meters. The present school site is used to be a vacant lot under the administration of the National Housing Authority which is several years had been considered a dumping site of waste materials in the area and a creek containing a mudflow and stagnant water.

The community is composed of Barangay 185 with an estimated 10,000 residents who were mostly relocates from Tondo, Payatas and Pasig. The families living in the community have low income and most of them are skilled laborers, factory workers and plain housewives.
